Take the First Steps in Becoming a parent

Updated: Feb 18, 2018

During these consultations, you will meet with a process consultant and an attorney from our agency to review our programs and options, including the detailed process of matching with an egg donor and/or a surrogate, legal implications, insurance details, surrogacy costs, and basic medical information. We believe that working with a credible surrogacy agency with knowledge that includes both domestic and international surrogacy options is the only way you will experience a safe and problem-free journey. Circle Surrogacy has legal contacts in many foreign countries and in nearly every U.S. state. We understand what is needed for gay and heterosexual intended parents to go home with their legal rights as fully secure as possible. Our process is designed to make sure that every intended parent gets matched with a surrogate from a state where they can obtain what is necessary for their safe return. After your free consultation, and if you would like to proceed with Circle, you will sign an Agreement for Services. Once the Agreement is executed, you will be assigned a Program Coordinator, who will guide you through every phase of the process. In addition to being your point person for the process, your Program Coordination (PC) team is also responsible for all the logistics involved with scheduling medical screenings, monitoring the IVF retrieval and transfer for your surrogate and egg donor (if applicable). As your journey progresses, you and your PC team will be communicating on a regular basis. We encourage this constant communication, to ensure that you feel completely involved and aware throughout your journey. The matching process is the first stage of your journey and begins with an initial call or Skype with your Program Coordination team to choose an IVF clinic and an egg donor (if needed). The next step will be to find an appropriate match with a gestational surrogate who has completed our comprehensive screening process. The average time frame for completing a match with a donor, clinic and surrogate is between 1 – 4 months and is based on a client’s legal matching requirements. This stage begins upon the official confirmation of heartbeat by ultrasound during the 6th-7th week of pregnancy and lasts until delivery. Your Program Coordination team will be in contact with you, directly after the confirmation of heartbeat and around the time of the 10-week, 20-week, and throughout your journey. The legal team will also begin its work following the 20-week ultrasound. As soon as a heartbeat is confirmed, you will receive our Pregnancy Packet filled with information and instructions for this next stage of your journey. Additionally, your PC will contact the hospital 1-2 months prior to delivery to prepare the hospital for a surrogacy birth. At this time, the legal team will coordinate the completion of the legal documentation for your baby or babies. The legal team will work within the most current laws of the state of birth, as well as international laws, in order to ensure that your journey ends with the required documentation for your home state or country. We will guide you through the legal work prior to the birth and give you the opportunity to ask questions. For our domestic parents, you may be able to travel home within a day or two of the release from the hospital. For our international parents, the estimated time that you will need to remain in the state of birth is approximately two to four weeks after the child is discharged from the hospital.
